How to Send a WhatsApp Broadcast Campaign in Inaiy

Send a WhatsApp broadcast campaign in Inaiy: pick an approved template, fill its variables, choose contacts or a segment, test it, then send now or schedule it.

A WhatsApp broadcast campaign sends one approved template message to many customers at once, such as an order update, a sale announcement, or a reminder. In Inaiy, open Campaigns, click New Campaign, name it, pick an approved template, choose your audience, then click Send Campaign or schedule it for later. Each customer gets the message as a personal chat, and replies land in your shared inbox.

Unlike a WhatsApp broadcast list on a phone, customers do not need to have saved your number, and you can track delivery and reads for every recipient.

Who this is for and what you need first

This guide is for marketers and support teams who message many customers at once.

You need:

Steps to send a WhatsApp broadcast campaign

1. Open Campaigns

Click Campaigns under Messaging. The list shows each campaign with its status, channel, template, creator, and last update. Statuses are Draft, Scheduled, Running, Paused, Completed (callout 2), Cancelled, and Failed. Use Active only or Archived only to switch between current and archived campaigns.

Click New Campaign (callout 1).

Click New Campaign (callout 1). Finished campaigns show Completed (callout 2).

2. Name the campaign and pick a template

Step 1 of 2 asks for the Broadcast details:

  • Broadcast name: an internal name, such as Weekend order update.
  • Description and Owner team: optional.
  • WhatsApp number: the number that sends the campaign.

Under Template, search or filter by category and language, then click an approved template (callout 1). Recently used templates appear as shortcuts. The Live preview shows the message as customers will see it.

If the template has variables or a media header, a Template content section appears. Fill each value, such as the customer's first name or an offer code. Click Continue (callout 2).

Select an approved template (callout 1), check the preview, and click Continue (callout 2).

3. Choose the audience

Step 2 of 2 starts with Audience source (callout 1):

  • Contacts & filters: search contacts, filter by tag, country, or source, or target people who came from a Click-to-WhatsApp, Instagram, or Messenger ad. Tick contacts or click Select all matching.
  • Saved segment: pick a segment you built in Segments (callout 2). Recipients are worked out from the segment when the campaign sends, so new matching contacts are included.

Inaiy skips contacts who replied STOP, removes duplicate numbers, and warns you about contacts without marketing opt-in.

Choose the audience source (callout 1). Manage reusable audiences in Segments (callout 2).

4. Send a test

Click Send test (callout 2 in the next image) and enter your own WhatsApp number. Check the message on your phone: variables filled, links working, buttons labelled correctly.

5. Send now or schedule

Under Delivery, choose Send now to queue the broadcast as soon as you start it, or Schedule (callout 1) and pick a Date and Time. Times use your organization timezone, shown under the fields. The schedule must be in the future.

Click Send Campaign, or Schedule Campaign when scheduling.

Choose Schedule (callout 1) and a time, or send a test first (callout 2).

How to confirm it worked

  1. On Campaigns, the campaign shows Scheduled, then Running while it sends, then Completed.
  2. Open it with View details to see each recipient as Queued, Sent, Delivered, Read, or Failed.
  3. If some failed, use Retry Failed after fixing the cause, and read the reasons in WhatsApp campaign analytics.

Common mistakes

  1. Sending marketing to contacts without opt-in. Meta can limit your number when many people block or report you. Send marketing templates only to people who agreed to receive them.
  2. Skipping the test. A variable filled with the wrong field, such as a phone number where a name should be, goes to every recipient. Always send a test to yourself first.
  3. Scheduling in the wrong timezone. The schedule uses your organization timezone, not your laptop's. Check the timezone shown under the date and time.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can I send a WhatsApp broadcast to?

Two limits apply. Meta sets a daily limit on how many unique customers your number can message, which rises as you send good-quality messages. Your Inaiy plan also has a monthly message allowance, and Inaiy shows how much of it a campaign will use before you send. For large lists, split the audience across days.

Do customers need to save my number to get a broadcast?

No. Unlike broadcast lists in the WhatsApp Business app, campaigns sent through the WhatsApp Business API reach anyone with a WhatsApp account who has opted in. Each customer receives the message as a normal one-to-one chat, and their replies arrive in your Inaiy inbox.

Can I stop a campaign after it starts?

Yes. Open the campaign from the list while it is running and use Pause to stop sending temporarily, Resume to continue, or Cancel to stop it for good. Messages already sent cannot be recalled. Drafts that were never sent can be deleted or archived from the actions menu.
