How to Connect WhatsApp Business API, Instagram, and Messenger to Inaiy

To connect WhatsApp Business API to Inaiy, open Settings → Channels, click Add WhatsApp number, click Add number, then Continue with Meta, and finish Meta's sign-up window. Your number shows as Connected with an active webhook and a valid token. Instagram and Messenger connect from the same Channels page in a few clicks.

Once connected, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, and Messenger chats all land in one inbox, with the same routing, saved replies, and automation.

Who this is for and what you need first

This guide is for the workspace Owner or Admin who sets up channels.

You need:

• A paid plan. Free workspaces use a shared Inaiy WhatsApp number. Starter connects 1 WhatsApp number, 1 Instagram account, and 1 Facebook Page; Growth connects 3 of each; Business connects 10.
• A Facebook account that is an admin of your business on Meta (your business portfolio).
• For WhatsApp: a phone number that can receive an SMS or voice call for the verification code. You can also connect a number you already use in the WhatsApp Business app.
• For Instagram: an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator).
• For Messenger: admin access to the Facebook Page.
• Pop-ups allowed for inaiy.com in your browser.

Steps to connect WhatsApp Business API and other channels

1. Open Channels

Click Settings, then Channels. The Available cards show WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger with how many of each are connected. Below them, Connected channels lists every number, account, and Page with its status.

Click Add WhatsApp number (callout 1).

You land on the WhatsApp page. Click Add number (callout 1).

If your developer already has a permanent access token from Meta, use Connect with token (callout 2) instead. Most businesses should use Add number, because Meta's sign-up window sets up everything for you.

3. Continue with Meta

Inaiy shows a short Connect WhatsApp page. Allow pop-ups if the browser asks, then click Continue with Meta (callout 1).

4. Finish Meta's sign-up window

The next screens belong to Meta, not Inaiy, so they are not shown here. In the Meta window:

1. Log in with the Facebook account that manages your business.
2. Pick your business portfolio, or create one.
3. Create or pick a WhatsApp Business account.
4. Enter the display name and the phone number. To keep using the WhatsApp Business app on that number, choose the option to connect your existing app.
5. Enter the verification code Meta sends to the number.
6. Approve the permissions and click Finish.

Meta closes the window and Inaiy brings you back to your workspace. The new number appears under Connected channels.

5. Connect Instagram

Go back to Channels and click the Instagram card. Click Add Instagram account (callout 1) and sign in with Instagram. Inaiy uses Instagram Login, so you do not need to pick a Facebook Page.

When it finishes, the account shows Connected with the webhook, token, token expiry date, and follower count.

6. Connect Messenger

Go back to Channels and click the Messenger card. Click Add Facebook Page (callout 1), log in to Facebook, and select the Page whose chats you want in Inaiy. Inaiy subscribes the Page to messages and comments for you.

How to confirm it worked

Open Settings → Channels → WhatsApp and select your number. A healthy connection shows:

• Connected at the top right (callout 1).
• Webhook: Active. Inaiy receives incoming messages.
• Token: Valid. Inaiy can send messages.
• Quality: Green. Meta rates your number well.

Then send a WhatsApp message to the number from your own phone. It should appear in Inbox within a few seconds. Do the same with an Instagram DM and a Messenger message.

Common mistakes

1. Blocking the Meta pop-up. If nothing happens after Continue with Meta, your browser blocked the window. Allow pop-ups for inaiy.com and click again.
2. Using a number that is active on the regular WhatsApp app. Meta cannot register a number that is in use on personal WhatsApp. Move it to the WhatsApp Business app first, or delete the WhatsApp account on that phone.
3. Connecting a personal Instagram account. Instagram only allows professional accounts. Switch the account to Business or Creator in the Instagram app, then connect again.
